New York based pianists Christian Li and Jason Yeager each present their arresting solo renditions of jazz standards, original compositions, and classical & 20th century concert works.
About Jason Yeager:
Jason Yeager is a New York-based pianist, composer, and educator, whose music is informed by jazz improvisation, contemporary chamber music, and Latin American folk rhythms. On April 24th, 2019, he will make his Carnegie Hall debut in a solo performance at Weill Hall. Yeager's album, United, with violinist Jason Anick, was awarded 4.5 stars and named one of 2017’s top releases in Downbeat Magazine. His fourth recording as a leader, All At Onceness, with composer/saxophonist Randal Despommier, was released on Red Piano Records in April 2018. Yeager has performed and recorded with such artists as Luciana Souza, Matt Wilson, Ayn Inserto, Linda Oh, Greg Osby, Sara Serpa, and George Garzone, and has performed across the US and abroad in Argentina, Panama, and South Africa. In addition to his performance and composition work, Yeager teaches piano at Berklee College of Music.
About Christian Li:
Christian Li (李潭林) is a jazz pianist. He was born in Montreal, Quebec and raised in the small town of Horseheads, NY. He has studied and performed with a wide variety of artists including Danilo Perez, Ben Street, Joe Lovano, Dave Liebman, Chris Cheek, Rich Perry, Dayna Stephens, Donny McCaslin, Jack Dejohnette, and John Patitucci. Christian leads his own groups and works extensively as a sideman. He has performed at a few festivals, including Newport, Panama, Monterey, Montreux, Detroit, and Jazz En Comminges. He has also performed at a few notable venues, including the Blue Note, Birdland, East Shore, and Carnegie Hall. He has given a talk at TEDx Chemung Valley. He sometimes summons enough courage to perform classical music. He also arranges string for Norwegian singer-songwriter Siv Jakobsen. Christian is on faculty at the Berklee College of Music and the Calhoun School. He currently studies classical piano with Deirdre O’Donohue.
