About DoYeon Kim
DoYeon Kim is a virtuoso of the Korean zither (Gayageum). Traditionally trained, she has since risen to international acclaim for her free jazz improvisation. Her 2017 album Gapi received a Korean Grammy nomination, Grammy.com recognized her as one of 7 Musicians Pushing Ancient Asian Instruments Into The Future (2021), and she is currently performing projects at Roulette as a Van Lier Fellow (2023).
About Frank Carlberg
Originally from Helsinki, Finland, Frank Carlberg has carved himself quite a niche in the New York City jazz community. His groups include Frank Carlberg's Word Circus, The Frank Carlberg Large Ensemble, Tivoli Trio and he has performed with the likes of Steve Lacy, Kenny Wheeler, Bob Brookmeyer and has appeared at Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Montreal, Pori, Umbria Festivals etc. In addition to his playing and composing he serves on the faculty of New England Conservatory.
